Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree with 12 credit hours of accounting coursework; or Associate's degree in accounting; or Associate's degree in business or related discipline with 12 credit hours of accounting coursework; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

This position is being recruited for at the Contributing Competency level under the Career Banding program. The hiring range for this position is $47,200 - $58,342, and the salary grade equivalent is 69. ************************************************************************************************************************************************ *** INTERNAL ONLY: Internal posting for permanent, time-limited and layoff priority employees of UNC-Chapel Hill only *** POSITION DECRIPTION: The MEASURE Evaluation Project in the Carolina Population Center (www.cpc.unc.edu) is a large international project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) that focuses on monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of population, health and nutrition programs and improving health sector decision-making. The Accountant will manage all partner activity portfolios, which is about 80 currently active scopes of work, financial reporting to various audiences, and financial oversight for the smaller USAID funded awards that Carolina Population Center receives. ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Excel proficiency is required. Computer proficiency, including email, calendar management and Microsoft Office skills are also essential. The ability to communicate effectively with technical, USAID and senior-level staff, both verbally and in writing, is required. Excellent working knowledge of office management techniques and organizational skills is necessary, as is the ability to work independently at a very high level, with little supervision. The selected candidate must be able to plan for and meet strict deadlines. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing contractual and financial documents is required, as well as the ability to function well in a culturally diverse work environment.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with UNC financial systems, procedures and USAID experience is a plus.
