Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
 
Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
This position is being recruited for at the Journey level under the Career Banding program. The hiring range for this position is $37,513-$43,034, and the salary grade equivalent is 65. **************************************************************************************************** POSITION DESCRIPTION: The person in this position will perform a wide range of administrative and business functions in support of senior staff of the Carolina Population Center. Areas of responsibility include assisting the Proposal Unit in the processing of proposals and the maintenance of databases, ordering IT equipment and maintaining related databases, assisting with development of center reports, interacting with over 60 center fellows, events planning, and serving as Executive Assistant to the Center's Director, Deputy Director, and Associate Director. ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Experience working with financial information is required. This position requires strong quantitative skills, demonstrated proficiency in the creation and manipulation of Excel files and associated graphics, and exceptional attention to detail. Proficiency in Word and PowerPoint, excellent written and oral communication skills, and good organization skills to plan and manage multiple deliverables and deadlines are required. The ability to work independently, at a very high level, with little supervision is required. Current NC driver's license is required .
 
Preferred Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred. Experience working in a university or research environment is considered a plus.
