| Position Summary |
MEASURE Evaluation, an international population, health, and nutrition monitoring and evaluation project, with offices at the Carolina Population Center (www.cpc.unc.edu), University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, has an opening for an experienced Master’s level Research Associate. The Research Associate will participate in all aspects of the design, implementation, analysis, and dissemination of the MEASURE Evaluation project evaluations and technical assistance. This person will provide technical support to the development of Monitoring and Evaluation systems for USAID and the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). In addition this person will provide capacity building support on monitoring and evaluation for in-country research and evaluation partners. An important role of this person will include identifying potential research areas that can be examined using MEASURE Evaluation and other data, leading data analysis of identified areas, and presenting findings to national, regional, and global audiences. The position will report to the Deputy Director for HIV and Infectious Disease. |
| Educational Requirements |
Masters’ degree in Public Health, Economics, Sociology, or a related discipline is required. |
| Qualifications and Experience |
A minimum of 3 years directly relevant experience in or with developing countries addressing HIV AIDS, PEPFAR and OVC programs; and, demonstrated ability to work effectively in developing countries is required. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with other project staff, funding agencies including USAID and US based and international colleagues is required. Experience in management and analysis of data for program evaluation is required. Strong writing and communication skills (required); Thorough understanding of the determinants of health outcomes and the individual-level decision processes related to these outcomes (preferred); Fluency in English (required); Fluency in a second language, particularly Spanish or French, (preferred); Availability to travel internationally at least 30 time annually (required). |
