| Position Summary |
The MEASURE Evaluation Project in the Carolina Population Center at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (www.cpc.unc.edu) is a large international project, funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). MEASURE Evaluation focuses on monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and health information systems (HIS) for improving health sector decision making. The MEASURE Evaluation project is recruiting a full-time temporary research associate for a variety of activities related to the monitoring and evaluation of population, health and nutrition with emphasis on HIV AIDS programs. The position will be based in Chapel Hill, NC. The duration of the position is expected to be one-year. The research associate will work on MEASURE Evaluation’s portfolio of HIV AIDS activities as assigned. The research associate will report to the Senior Technical Advisor for HIV AIDS. |

Advanced degree in Public Health, Demography or related discipline. |
| Qualifications and Experience |
At least 3 years of experience working in international health and in the implementation of HIV AIDS programs is required. Experience in monitoring and evaluation of HIV AIDS activities (required). Strong writing and communication skills (required). Experience with planning, implementing and managing research studies, programs or strategies. Demonstrated understanding of research ethics and data handling. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with other project staff, funding agencies such as USAID and U.S. based and international colleagues (required). Fluency in English (required) and another language (French, Spanish or Portuguese) is preferred. Availability to travel internationally at least 15 of the time annually (required). |
