This cover of CPC's organizational brochure in 1976 features the logo that CPC used for many years. The brochure offers this description of the logo:
The CPC symbol is a stylized version of the graph often used to represent the classic “demographic transition.” The curve forming the left edge of the reverse S-like figure within the circle depicts the decline of death rates, as a nation benefits from public health and other programs which reduce mortality. The curve forming the right edge of the “S” depicts the subsequent decline of birth rates, as a result of the reduction of desired family size and the influence of fertility control measures.
