The
professional librarian at CPC provides reference services, manages the
library's automated systems, interacts with other campus librarians,
and provides a full complement of library services. The librarian
manages the technical services functions of the library including
programming, database management, cataloging, and ordering and
processing. The librarian also provides in-depth reference services
including online searching and bibliographic instruction, user-support
assistance, and evaluates new information resources. She is responsible
for the print and electronic collection development and evaluation, and
subject cataloging of print and electronic materials.
Student
employees are an important part of the CPC library team. They provide
assistance in circulation, reference and technical services. They
process interlibrary loan document requests, incoming serials, and new
acquisitions. They provide the courier service, handle circulation
requests, and contribute to the overall maintenance of the collection
and the operations of the library.
