Question: An investigator submitted a manuscript to a journal and the reviewers gave her a
"revise and accept" in Feb. 2008. She made the revisions and
received a final acceptance after April 7, 2008. Do you think we can count
the Feb. acceptance as occuring before the mandate and not be subject to
the requirements, or do we need to go through the PubMed Central process?
Answer:
Because the final acceptance was received after April 7, 2008 the
manuscript does fall within the NIH Public Access Policy mandate. The
manuscript will need to be submitted to PubMed Central.
