Arne L. Kalleberg studies labor force issues at the interface of sociology, economics, and psychology. His major current projects include: an analysis of changes in job quality in the United States; an assessment of some major ways in which people and jobs are mismatched in industrial societies; an examination of the impact of globalization on work; and analyses of cross-national attitudes toward work. He served as President of the American Sociological Association in 2007-8.
