Siān Curtis is a statistical demographer whose research focuses on contraceptive use dynamics, monitoring and evaluation of international population and health programs including HIV/AIDS programs, maternal health, and infant mortality. Recent work includes analyzing the potential role of motivation in contraceptive discontinuation, assessing the quality of sexual behavior data collected by household surveys, HIV and increases in child mortality in Kenya, and analyzing trends and determinants in use of delivery care in developing countries. She has particular expertise in the design and analysis of complex surveys and previously worked as a senior analyst with the Demographic and Health Survey Project at Macro International. She is currently director of the MEASURE Evaluation project, a USAID-funded project to develop and apply methods for monitoring and evaluation of international population and health programs. Her international experience includes projects in Brazil, Kenya, Nepal, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Turkey. |
