Oksana Leukhina

Oksana Leukhina, Assistant Professor of Economics at UNC-CH and a CPC fellow, is a macroeconomist with main interests in the fields of growth and fluctuations, demographics, and public economics. She has studied the process of growth and development over long time scales with a focus on the demographic transition and industrialization of England. She has also investigated the dramatic rise in labor force participation of married women in the US in the last 50 years. Currently, she is examining the effect of population aging on capital accumulation, asset returns, and portfolio composition in a framework that accounts for the presence and observed features of intergenerational within-family transfers.
