Penny Gordon-Larsen
Penny Gordon-Larsen is an Assistant Professor of Nutrition and CPC fellow. She is a specialist in human nutrition epidemiology interested in patterns of determinants of obesity, specifically patterns of diet, physical activity, and inactivity. Her research, funded by the National Institutes of Health, explores environmental determinants of obesity, physical activity, and diet. Dr. Gordon-Larsen's aging-related interests focus on understanding the way shifts in the physical and social environment affect the progression of changes in physical activity, diet, and obesity patterns across each segment of the life span. Dr. Gordon-Larsen is currently a Fellow and Governing Council Board member of the Obesity Society, the premier association for obesity research. She is also a member of the American Society for Nutritional Sciences and the Population Association of America. She is on the editorial board of the top-ranked obesity journal, Obesity.
