Peter Uhlenberg

Associate Director

Peter Uhlenberg, Professor of Sociology at UNC-CH, Institute of Aging Associate Director for Graduate Education, and CPC fellow, has conducted research and taught in the field of aging over the past 20 years. During this time his research on population aging, aging policy, and demography of intergenerational relationships has been published in a variety of periodicals (e.g., Journal of Gerontology, The Gerontologist, Social Forces, Population Studies, Annual Review of Sociology, Annual Review of Gerontology and Geriatrics) and books (e.g., Handbook of Aging and the Social Sciences, Handbook of Grandparenthood, Handbook of Theories of Aging, Encyclopedia of Gerontology). He has instructed undergraduate and graduate courses in aging, precepted postdoctoral fellows in demography of aging at the CPC, served on editorial boards of Journal of Gerontology and Research on Aging, and served on council of the Section on Aging of the American Sociological Association.
