The Global Obesity Business Forum (GOBF) is an initiative of the Interdisciplinary Obesity Center (IDOC)

Private Sector Involvement

• Co-sponsored with KORP (Kenan Obesity Reduction Partnership) a 2-day conference bringing together major business school researchers from UNC and Duke in the diet and obesity area with major food industry leaders, May 5-6, 2005
• Developed the Global Obesity Business Forum to encourage dialogue between major food corporations and faculty researchers and encourage positive changes related to obesity reduction.

GOBF held its first meeting October 29-30, 2007 in Chapel Hill, NC
