A satellite workshop titled "Scaling up Family Planning and Maternal and Child Health Programs: Focusing on Gender Integration, Policy Implementation, and Measurement" will be held as part of the Women Deliver conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The workshop is being coordinated by the USAID-funded Gender, Policy and Measurement Program, organized by the Health Policy Project and MEASURE Evaluation. It will will take place on May 27, 2013, at the Intercontinental Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, which is walking distance from the Women Deliver conference venue.
This skills-building workshop is open, free of charge, to all Women Deliver participants, and is particularly relevant for attendees from NGOs, universities, donor organizations, and governments engaged in scaling up best practices in family planning and maternal, neonatal, and child health (FP/MNCH).
About the Session:
Gender integration, policy development, and measurement are critical to the successful and sustainable scale-up of family planning and maternal, neonatal, and child health interventions. Interactive panel discussions, presentations, and working groups will provide participants an opportunity to acquire and apply innovative skills in these three important components of scale-up. By the end of the workshop, participants will have increased knowledge and skills to address gender inequality and implement supportive policies and systems that enhance the sustainability of scale-up initiatives. Participants will also improve skills and learn new techniques to measure the impact of gender integration and policy implementation in scale-up on health outcomes. Once available, the agenda will be posted on the Women Deliver 2013 website as well as on the GPM website. For more details about Women Deliver 2013, please visit the conference website. Please note that spaces are limited so registration requests will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Registration is open until May 10. For information or to RSVP, contact rkiesel@futuresgroup.com.
