Enlisting National Mapping Agencies in Improving Health Outcomes
Increased dialog and cooperation between the Health and Mapping sectors should help lead to more sharing of geospatial resources and to increased geospatial capacity within the Health sector, both of which will help strengthen the National Geospatial Data Infrastructure (NGDI) and ultimately improve health outcomes.
Meeting objectives
- Facilitate cooperation between Nigeria’s health and mapping sectors in the fight against HIV/AIDS and related public health and social service challenges
- Increase awareness and sharing of geospatial resources within Nigeria to enhance decision making for public health and social service programs
- Identify challenges to development of the NGDI and create an action plan to help address them
Hosts
MEASURE Evaluation, a USAID funded project, is partnering with the National Space Research and Development Agency, the Federal Ministry of Health, the National Population Commission, and the Office of the Surveyor General of the Federation.
