USAID’s MEASURE Evaluation project is pleased to announce a Virtual Leadership Development Program (VLDP) on Addressing Challenges Related to the Sustainability of M&E Systems. This VLDP is for teams working in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of HIV/AIDS programs in Anglophone countries. Funded by USAID, the main goal of the Sustainability VLDP is to strengthen individual and team leadership and management practices (behaviors) that will help plan for and implement policies and activities to increase sustainability of M&E in the face of a constantly changing financial and technical environment.
The Sustainability VLDP for teams working on M&E challenges is designed for both public and private sector organizations to strengthen leadership and management practices with a focus on M&E to improve sustainability of strategic M&E activities and results. Experience delivering the VLDP in Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Asia has shown that participation in this leadership program strengthens individual leadership skills, improves team integration and performance, and improves team work climate.
The VLDP is a twelve-week Internet-based leadership development program hosted on the VLDP Web site of the MEASURE Evaluation project’s team member Management Sciences for Health (MSH). A highly interactive learning program, the VLDP consists of six learning modules, a supplementary participant workbook, expert virtual facilitation from experienced leadership and organizational development specialists. Program participants work in teams to identify key M&E challenges and begin to address these challenges with the continual support, feedback, and guidance of the facilitators and M&E experts.
This Sustainability VLDP will launch on March 25, 2013 and conclude on June 14, 2013. The deadline for applications is February 11, 2013.
This VLDP is being offered free of charge to qualified teams. The cost of this program is being supported by USAID. All qualified applications will be considered, with applications from public sector health agencies and local NGOs especially encouraged.
