MEASURE Evaluation in Cameroon

Orphans and Vulnerable Children

In Spring 2012, MEASURE Evaluation conducted a participatory assessment visit and situational analysis of the current M&E system for child protection in Cameroon. MEASURE Evaluation organized meetings with key child protection stakeholders in Cameroon, including the Ministry of Social Affairs, the National AIDS Control Committee, USAID/Cameroon, UNICEF/Cameroon, and implementing partners, in order to discuss the current status of the child protection M&E system and proposed improvements. After the assessment visit, MEASURE Evaluation has proposed to develop a multi-year, prioritized and costed road map towards the establishment of a functional, unified M&E system for child protection in Cameroon. Upon the development of this road map, MEASURE Evaluation will support targeted activities such as M&E capacity building with national staff, secondary analysis of existing data on children’s needs and current services being received, and the development of standard operating procedures for the routine program monitoring system for child protection activities. MEASURE Evaluation will work in close collaboration with national counterparts in the Government of Cameroon in order to ensure the sustainability and local ownership of child protection M&E activities in Cameroon.
