Katherine Weisshaar's research focuses on gender, racial, and economic inequality within the labor market and organizations. She is interested in how labor market inequities are formed through hiring and organizational processes.

Katherine Weisshaar is a sociologist whose research focuses on gender, racial, and economic inequality within workplaces, families, and the labor market. She is particularly interested in how macro-level inequalities in the labor force are reproduced through micro- and meso-level processes in the workplace, in families, and in the work-family intersection. Her recent work has examined the gendered consequences of employment lapses in terms of hiring likelihood and wages, as well as the ways that organizations can reinforce gender and racial inequality through evaluation processes.
