Alternative Business Models for Family Planning

Presentations from the 3rd Annual Meeting

Washington, DC   November 7-8, 2002

Our third annual meeting was hosted by the World Bank, with the participation of the advisory group as well as grantee representatives from Pakistan, Ethiopia, and India. Staff from the Packard Foundation, the Friendly Care Foundation, Commercial Market Strategies, the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and the Carolina Population Center also participated.

The first day was a discussion forum on the private provision of health services in developing countries, organized by the World Bank. The second day focused on the participants in the ABM project. The following presentations offer a summary of the second day of the meeting. Presentations were divided into three categories: project updates, alternative business models in non-ABM projects, and results from the cluster evaluation baseline survey.
