Program Code Repository

Over the years that investigators have used the Add Health data, common issues and questions about data management and analysis have emerged. Solutions to two common issues are provided here, with tested programs written in SAS:

For example, Wave I respondents were asked to self-select up to five races (H1GI6A-E). Many analyses require race to have mutually exclusive categories. Combining the multiple race options and hispanicity (H1GI4) into a "single race" variable, mutually exclusive categories can be constructed. The code and documentation are provided in the Program Code Repository. Additions to the library of programs will be made based on the needs and requests of the Add Health community.

The information provided in the program code repository by the Add Health team is a service to the Add Health research community. It is provided "as is" with no guarantees as to suitability for a particular purpose.
