General research interests

My research interests include genetic and environmental influences on adolescent onset behaviors such as delinquency and smoking. Another area of interest is the diffusion of social behavior through peer networks.

Add Health research interests and projects

I am responsible for the environmental and biological models project of the Add Health study. This component consists of sibling kinships with four levels of genetic relatedness:

  1. unrelated children raised together
  2. genetic half-siblings
  3. genetic full-siblings and dizygotic twins
  4. monozygotic twins

Most variables in the Add Health study can be examined using these kinship groups to create a full behavior genetic research design.
