Individual Child Care

The CHNS Individual Child Care Master File contains information regarding child care for children age 6 and under in the household. As a longitudinal file, it may contain multiple years of data for each child.  A child can have from 1 to 7 years of data as designated by the WAVE variable, which contains the survey year, 1991, 1993, 1997, 2000, 2004, 2006, or 2009.

Child Care Available to Household 

The CHNS Household Child Care Master File contains information regarding child care available to the household. As a longitudinal file, it contains multiple years of data for each household.  A Household can have from 1 to 8 years of data as designated by the WAVE variable, which contains the survey year, 1989, 1991, 1993, 1997, 2000, 2004, 2006, or 2009.
