Master Marriage History File
The CHNS Marriage History Master File contains information from the Ever-Married Women Surveys. It contains information about marriage and inter-generational linkages. As a longitudinal file, it contains multiple years of data for each individual. An individual can have from 1 to 6 years of data as designated by the WAVE variable, which contains the survey year, 1991, 1993, 1997, 2000, 2004, or 2006 (No marriage history data was collected in 1989).
This file consolidates Marriage History data from six survey files:
