Master Medical Insurance File

The CHNS Individual Medical Insurance Master File contains information regarding medical insurance coverage for individuals. As a longitudinal file, this file contains multiple years of data for each individual.  An individual can have from 1 to 7 years of data as designated by the WAVE variable which contains the survey year, 1989, 1991, 1993, 1997, 2000, 2004 or 2006. 

This file consolidates individual medical insurance data from 7 survey files:
