Master Marriage History File

The CHNS Marriage History Master File contains information from the Every Married Women Surveys. It contains information about marriage and inter-generational linkages. As a longitudinal file, this file contains multiple years of data for each individual.  An individual can have from 1 to 6 years of data as designated by the WAVE variable which contains the survey year, 1991, 1993 1997, 2000, 2004 or 2006 (No marriage history data was collected in 1989). 

This file consolidates Marriage History data from 5 survey files:
