Data
The LAMHA project has collected data of interest to investigators from many disciplines and data will be available for study in January 1, 2009. LAMHA data will be available in a restricted-use contractual dataset. Data available include the LAMHA parent survey, the LAMHA adolescent survey, the mental health service use data, and adolescent qualitative interview data. Health belief interview data are not available.
It is a central concern of the LAMHA project that the confidentiality of participants be strictly protected. Deductive disclosure concerns prevent full access to all data sources. For this reason, the distribution of data will be limited.
- Restricted-use data will be distributed only to certified researchers who commit themselves to maintaining limited access.
- In no case will geocodes be available to outside researchers.
The rationale for this release structure is to protect the identities of LAMHA project participants while allowing access to the data to a wide range of researchers.
