Access to the sensitive, restricted-use data files

Access to the entire longitudinal data sets from 1984, 1994, and 2000 and all contextual data are available by contractual agreement with the Carolina Population Center. Contractual data are provided in separate linkable datasets and contain a hidden signature identifying the purchaser. To be eligible to enter into a contract, you must be a researcher with an IRB-approved plan for handling and storing sensitive data and sign a data-use contract agreeing to keep the data confidential. In addition to an application for obtaining sensitive data, you need to submit a $300 non-refundable fee made payable to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The fee covers administrative and handling charges and entitles you to four hours of telephone consultation with Nang Rong staff. Fees also pay for trips to user sites by Nang Rong staff to confirm compliance with the data-use contract.   If interested complete and submit the contract to:
