Research
I am interested in the cultural ecology of disease and human-environmental interactions, as well as neighborhood-level effects on the health of populations. Currently, my work is on cholera vaccine trials in rural Bangladesh and how the efficacy of these vaccines varies by area. Within the framework of this project, we are looking at two factors specifically and how they affect the protective efficacy of the vaccines, namely environmental connectivity and social networks. I plan to conduct my Master’s work and potentially my dissertation with a focus on these factors as well.
