Shelf, Rack, Row, Layer
As specimens are being securely housed in subzero freezers the process of inventory tracking begins. Think of a freezer's inside space fitted with shelves and racks as a storage grid. Knowing the structure will allow immediate pinpointing of a particular specimen or assay. And as with books on a library shelf, it is vital to return specimens to their designated location. If that location changes, make sure the map or catalog of those locations is updated.
