Download Sample Data

If you are NOT taking this tutorial on a PC located at the Carolina Population Center, you need to copy the example data files to the hard drive on your computer. The files are bundled and compressed into one self-extracting file named data.exe. We recommend putting these files in a location such as C:\statatut on your PC.

Once you have copied the file to your PC, double click on it in My Computer to extract the example data files. This will produce 12 Stata data files with a combined size of about 1.3 Megabyte. If you are using 64-bit Windows you will likely get an error message so just rename the file to data.zip and then right-click on it and choose "Extract All...".

Download this file: data.exe

After completing the tutorial, you can delete the 12 Stata files and the self-extracting file.
