Services at CPC

The center devotes its resources to fostering communication, innovation, and high-quality research. Our service units provide professional services to CPC scholars, trainees, and research staff. Extensive synergies occur across units to provide efficient support to the center’s activities. Details about each service unit are provided by the following links.

  • Administrative Services:
    • Financial and Human Resource Management: centerwide financial issues, accounting and fiscal management of research projects, travel services, and human resource administration
    • Administrative Support: clerical services, center database management, supply orders, conference room scheduling, parking assignments, facilities management
    • General Services: mailroom operations, courier services, photocopier maintenance, furniture moving

  • Research Services:
    • Data Support: data preparation for CPC field studies
    • Library: research & library resources, services, and assistance
    • Publications / Graphics: design support for presentations, proposals, publications, posters, and provides editing services for population-related scholarly writing
    • Research Development and Proposal Services: assistance in identifying funding opportunities, proposal development for proposals submitting through the center, post-award management services
    • Research Programming: services related with data-related activities of research projects, including data cleaning, data management, data dissemination, and statistical analyses
    • Spatial Analysis: geographic information technology applications, spatial database design and development, spatial modeling, satellite image processing and analysis, global positioning systems data collection, and cartographic production
    • Systems & User Service: computer systems administration, user support, and security
    • Web: custom web application programming, web site design & implementation, web application administration

  • Consultative:
    • Biomedical Services: advice and training for CPC researchers interested in incorporating biomedical specimen collection, storage, and assays into their population projects
    • Spatial Analysis: advice for CPC researchers on incorporating spatial analysis into population research projects
    • Statistical: advice for CPC researchers on developing research designs, selecting statistical methods, and interpreting statistical findings
