Trainings for CPCers on the NIH Public Access Policy

The NIH Public Access Policy, which requires authors of peer-reviewed articles that arise out of NIH funding to deposit their manuscripts to PubMed Central, goes into effect on April 7, 2008.

CPC Library staff will provide trainings to CPC fellows, trainees and staff on understanding the policy, author's rights and responsibilities including retaining rights to comply with the policy, and citing the manuscripts in NIH proposals and progress reports (which will be required with all submissions after May 25, 2008). Note that CPC Library staff will submit manuscripts to PubMed Central for CPC publications that arise out of NIH funding.

You may also consult the CPC website on the NIH Public Access Policy: http://www.cpc.unc.edu/services/infoserv/library/nih_public_access_mandate
