Position Summary

The Carolina Population Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is inviting applications for a postdoctoral position funded as part of its NICHD-funded T32 population training program. The overall goal of the program is to create a cadre of future leaders in social science and public health disciplines with the subject matter expertise, interdisciplinary orientation, population perspective, and data skills to address and have an impact on pressing issues in demography, population health, and reproductive health.

Educational Requirements

Eligible applicants are US citizens or permanent residents with a PhD in a social science or public health discipline (at the time of appointment).

Experience and interest in population health and research.

Special Instructions

A letter of endorsement from one of the current CPC fellows is part of the application. The letter should describe specific plans for research collaboration during the postdoctoral fellowship. Prospective applicants should consult the list of CPC faculty fellows and contact potential sponsors to determine their availability and interest. The application package also includes copies of research publications (no more than 3), complete graduate transcripts, and three letters of recommendation. The initial term of appointment is one year, with a start date between July 1, 2019 and September 30, 2019, but reappointment for a second (final year) of T32 support is expected. Applications submitted by December 8, 2018 will be considered first.
