Description of Work

The Research Assistant will be responsible for cleaning, organizing, and analyzing data on food and beverage intake and purchases from the National Health and Nutrition Survey as well as Nielsen Homescan household food purchase datasets using statistical software packages, including SAS and STATA. The Research Assistant will be responsible for conducting analyses on trends, associations between socio-demographic covariates (race/ethnicity, socio-economoic status) and intake and purchases of specific food groups. The Research Assistant will also be responsible for leading the writing up of these analyses for publication in a peer-reviewed manuscript, and presenting the data in research team meetings.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience;or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

-Master’s degree in global health or nutrition
-Previous experience analyzing dietary intake data
-Track record of peer-reviewed publications
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Attention to detail, ability to work in teams and under time sensitive project deadlines
-Proficiency in SAS and STATA
