Allison Lacko is interested in the intersection between food and health systems and how a social justice lens can be applied to policies to promote equity. Her research integrates nutrition science, epidemiology, econometrics and spatial analysis to understand diet-related disparities in the U.S. and the role state-level policy and local beverage taxes play in influencing the healthfulness of packaged food and beverage purchases.
