Melody Kramer
Melody Kramer leads communication for Carolina Demography and the Carolina Population Center. She is responsible for external and internal communications, website content, press and media, and developing material that explains the work of the Center and its researchers.
Kramer spent the majority of her career in public media, where she directed, produced, edited and wrote material for several shows, including “Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me” and “Fresh Air with Terry Gross.” She also worked as an editor and digital strategist at NPR, where she launched and directed projects that helped NPR build and engage audiences on- and off-air. She was a 2014-2015 Knight Visiting Nieman Fellow at Harvard University. Her bylines include pieces in National Geographic, Esquire Magazine, NPR and a variety of media-related publications.
