Abstract

Improved nutritional status may have a significant positive impact on labor productivity. Critical dimensions of productivity affected by nutrition include labor time and intensity of work. The various hypotheses relating nutrition and productivity are reviewed. A study of labor-intensive road construction workers in the Philippines is presented which corroborates many of these theoretical relationships.
