Now Accepting Applications for New Postdoctoral Scholars (Special Call) - Due Monday, July 1, 2019

The Carolina Population Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is inviting applications for a postdoctoral position funded as part of its NICHD-funded T32 population training program. The overall goal of the program is to create a cadre of future leaders in social science and public health disciplines with the subject matter expertise, interdisciplinary orientation, population perspective, and data skills to address and have an impact on pressing issues in demography, population health, and reproductive health.

Funding

The initial term of appointment is one year, beginning as early as August 2019 but no later than February 2020, but reappointment for a second (final year) of T32 support is expected. Applications submitted by Monday, July 1, 2019 will be considered first.

Educational Requirements

Postdoctoral scholars must have received their PhD or earned doctoral degree in a population-related field of study before the start date of the traineeship. Trainee positions requires successful applicants to be US citizens/permanent residents at the time of appointment.

Application Requirements (For New Applicants)

Applicants must complete the supplementary application package which includes a cover letter, cv, a background and goals statement, copies of research publications (no more than 3), and complete graduate transcripts. These materials must be submitted through our online portal.

Additionally, three letters of recommendation are required from faculty members with direct knowledge of your prior research and training. A letter of endorsement from one of the current CPC fellows is also required. The letter should describe the specific plans for research collaboration during the postdoctoral fellowship. Prospective applicants should consult the list of CPC faculty fellows and contact potential sponsors to determine their availability and interest. All letters must be emailed directly to .
