CPC Fellow Colin West Selected as a Fulbright U.S. Scholar for 2026-2027

CPC Fellow and Professor of Anthropology Colin West has been selected as a Fulbright U.S. Scholar for 2026-2027 for the Africa Regional Research Program.

Fulbright Scholar Awards are prestigious fellowships that offer scholars transformative opportunities to teach and conduct research abroad while strengthening their professional development and fostering long‑term connections that enrich their careers, campuses, and communities.

Dr. West was also recently awarded a UNC College of Arts and Sciences Seed Grant and a Firebird Foundation for Oral Literature Research Grant.

His research focuses on the human ecology of global change and the ways in which societies adapt to the twin processes of global environmental and social change.
