An article published in the February issue of the American Sociological Review reveals that a neighborhood’s native residents are more likely to move out as immigrants move to the area. The study, “Neighborhood Immigration and Native Out-Migration,” showed that native blacks and whites often move away for different reasons and discusses the factors that motivate their departures.

UNC sociologist and CPC Fellow Kyle Crowder co-authored the article with Matthew Hall and Stewart E. Tolnay.
