Barry Popkin, CPC Fellow and Carla Steel Chamblee Distinguished Professor of Global Nutrition at UNC-Chapel Hill, was interviewed by Nicholas D. Kristof for an op-ed piece about New York’s proposed soda tax.

“Soft drinks are linked to diabetes and obesity in the way that tobacco is to lung cancer,” says Barry Popkin, a nutrition specialist at the University of North Carolina and author of the excellent new book, “The World Is Fat.” (Source: Kristof, Nicholas D.
