The federal Maternal and Child Health Bureau has developed a Maternal and Child Health Life Course Research Network to advance the field of life course health development research. The work of CPC Fellow Glen H. Elder, Jr. on the life course framework has proven to be fundamental to this initiative. It has spurred a great deal of interest and further research to help improve the lives of mothers and children. Since the network was established at UCLA in November of 2010 it has grown to include more than 400 members from a variety of disciplines who are participating in this new venture.

The network will implement various studies that will enable evidence-based practice and policymaking at the family, local, state, national and international levels. For more information, visit the MCH LCRN website at http://www.healthychild.ucla.edu/LCRN.asp.
