Krista M. Perreira, CPC Fellow and Associate Professor of Public Policy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), has received funding for the study “Dietary Patterns and Obesity Risk among Latino Infants and Toddlers in North Carolina.”

The study will examine the dietary patterns and practices of new immigrant Latino families exploring the relationships between acculturation structure of their daily lives, infant and toddler diet, and risk of obesity. It is based in Orange County, North Carolina.

Margaret E. Bentley, CPC Fellow and Professor of Nutrition at UNC, is co-investigator.

Funding is provided by The Center for Excellence in Children’s Nutrition at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, which is sponsored by Mead Johnson and Company. The project is funded through June 2010.
