Peter Uhlenberg is interested in issues related to population aging, demography of the life course, and intergenerational relationships. His recent writing has been on such topics as: (1) Children in an aging society; (2) How demographic and social change affects grandparent-grandchild relationships; and (3) Age segregation. Uhlenberg had a major role in developing the center's program on the demography of aging. He is a former editor of Social Forces, and is editor of the International Handbook of Demography of Aging and of a special issue of Journal of Aging and Health on “Migration, Aging, and Health” He is a preceptor to CPC trainees and teaches graduate-level population courses.
