Juba Kafumba
Originally from Malawi, Juba holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences (Economics) from the University of Malawi and a Masters in Regional Development Economics from Ege University, Turkey. She is now pursuing a doctoral degree at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in public policy. Prior to enrolling in the Ph.D program, Juba worked as Research Fellow at the Centre for Social Research of the University of Malawi responsible for questionnaire design, primary data collection, team supervision, data quality checks, quantitative analysis, report writing, dissemination of results, and collection of biological samples. She has worked on many large studies, including coordination of a 5-year NIH-funded longitudinal study (She is currently on a study leave from CSR). Juba’s primary research interests are in health services research, evaluating health systems to determine how resources can give the greatest benefit to health care to improve behavior essential to controlling disease, poverty and sustainable livelihoods and social protection.
