Sylvie Tuder
I am a sociologist with research interests in the structural determinants of population health of women, racialized groups, and sexual/gender minorities across the life course in the United States. Much of my work uses an intersectional, biosocial framework to explore the ways that exposure to structural oppression subsequently shapes health inequalities. I also consider the ways that punishment and social control are key mechanisms generating and maintaining inequities in population health and mortality.
