This volume has presented a set of in-depth analyses of the impact of the economic crisis and subsequent recession on children in eleven Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries, selected to cover a wide range in terms of their initial conditions and the way the crisis played out. Each chapter has highlighted some important lessons for the country in question from the outcomes examined and the policies described and assessed. In this concluding chapter, we stand back, drawing on these country-level analyses to bring out broader conclusions and lessons for how children can be better protected for bearing the brunt of such crises in the future.Reference Type
