Abstract

We have arrived! With this issue, a new longawaited milestone in the maternal and child health (MCH) field has been achieved. We now have a journal of our own! As the Editor of the journal, I am proud of this achievement. But our success is really the result of the vision and hard work of many leading members of our MCH field over many years. Among the Associate Editors and the Editorial Board members are many of your colleagues who committed themselves tirelessly to making this journal a reality. And this first issue is but a small step in the development of a journal that will truly be of ongoing value to our field.
