Abstract
The article discusses an increase in the proportion of older people and a decline in the proportion of children which is being seen in nearly every county across the globe in 2013. A discussion of the factors which have led populations to grow older, and of a future world in which older people will vastly outnumber children, is presented. A comparison of the population aging patterns in Sweden, China and the U.S. is presented.
