CPC Fellow Hummer elected PAA Vice President and former CPC Director and Fellow Tsui elected PAA President

The Population Association of America announced the results of the recent election of its officers and Board of Directors. Robert Hummer is Vice President-elect and Amy Tsui is President-elect.

Robert Hummer is the Howard W. Odum Professor of Sociology at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a CPC Faculty Fellow.

Tsui was the Director of the Carolina Population Center from 1997 until 2002 and was a Faculty Fellow from 1985 until 2002. She was a faculty member in UNC's Maternal and Child Health department. She is now a Professor of Population, Family and Reproductive Health at Johns Hopkins University.

Leah Van Wey, a CPC trainee alumna, was elected to the Board of Directors. Van Wey is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Brown University.

The terms begin January 1, 2016.
